FAQs
What is the best time to go on safari?
The best time to travel largely depends on the region you choose to visit, the animals you most wish to see, and the season.
How close can we expect to get to the animals?
Closer than you imagine; safaris have been conducted ethically in many areas of Africa for so long now that the animals are largely habituated to the presence of vehicles. This creates an amazing opportunity to get up close and witness incredible natural happenings.
What to Pack?
For safari, choose comfortable, lightweight clothing in natural tones, with layers you can add or remove as temperatures change throughout the day. Early morning and evening game drives can be surprisingly cool, so a warm jacket is essential. Comfortable closed shoes or boots, a sun hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen are also worth packing. To make the most of your wildlife encounters, bring binoculars and a camera with a good zoom lens. Also pack insect repellent, personal toiletries, and any regular medication. Some areas are considered low-risk for malaria; we suggest you consult your doctor for the best advice.
